Mark 6:30-31

And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. And he said unto them, ”Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place and rest a while; for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat”.

For Every Moment in time---

There is a time for everything

 I CAN ONLY IMAGINE
 HOLY SPIRIT COME AND FILL THIS PLACE.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

v   To every thing there is a season a time to every purpose under the heaven;
v   A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
v   A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down, and a time to build up.
v   A time to weep and a time to laugh: a time to mourn and a time to dance.
v   A time to cast away stone, and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
v   A Time to get and a time to loose; a time to keep a time to cast away.
v   A time to end and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak.
v   A time to love, at time to hate; a time of war, a time of peace.
v     Vs 11:  He has made everything beautiful in His time.

GOD IS IN CONTROL OF EVERY
MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE.

 When we are submitted to God in every detail of our lives he can take care of us COMPLETELY.
 The disciples had just been “released” by Jesus to minister with Power to cast out demons, heal the sick and preach the gospel.
It doesn’t say how long….but if you think about it, it may have been a while.
 They were pumped and excited, exhilarated.
 They couldn’t wait to report back to Jesus all the wonderful, marvelous amazing things “they “ had done.
 All Minister, Prayer warriors, Lay leaders, Sunday School teachers, etc…get excited when they see God move mightily…
 But they can get weary and burnt out if they don’t learn to abide in His every word.

 Keep this in mind

1.  They had been in training.
2.  They got a release to go forth.
3.  They performed many miracles.
4.  They reported back. 

They were excited, they were ready to go back out…biting at the bit. 

But…. Jesus did something a bit strange.
v COME YE YOURSELVES APART
v IN A DESERT PLACE
v REST FOR A WHILE

WHY---

  FOR THERE WERE MANY COMING AND GOING
  THEY HAD NO LEISURE
  NOT MUCH TO EAT 

It doest not clarify---a little while
But the key is come YOU…. YOURSELF --- APART separate… away from - to exclude

I can remember feeling guilty about excluding myself in my early days, but now I understand the biblical application. Exclude yourself from your surrounding.

v Your job.
v Your ministry.
v Your family.
v Whatever you have been putting your all into.

YOU…. NOT SOMEONE ELSE

Sometimes we need a physical thrust….to remind us. We do need time alone.

v A friendly reminder
v Sometimes a cattle prod

I remember a few years back…I was doing’ the whining thing…oh Lord, if I only had more time.  I need to read your word, worship, just spend time in prayer… 

I CAN’T LIVE A DAY

Jesus said to go to a desert place. What is a desert…. place?
A large area of land where there is not enough vegetation to support human life. Picture …a desert

v Dry
v Hot
v Miles on miles of nothing
v All alone
v You and the sand, the sky…no distraction
v Then out of no-where pops a beautiful oasis
v You have water
v Beauty
v Solitude
v Shade from the heat
v Total bliss and peace

Oasis – an area in a desert made fertile by the presence of water. It may consist of clump of date palms around a small spring, which is typical of the Sahara , or like the oases made by the Nile and Euphrates,  A quiet, peaceful place in the midst of turbulent surroundings

  1^st he says come apart
  2^nd He says go to a desert place

Because Jesus knows what you have need of to get back into a place of deep intimate fellowship. When you are separate, secluded you don’t hear the clanging symbols all around you.

v The phone
v The kids
v The TV
v The neighbors
v Your spouse
 

SEPARATE

  It is in the dry places…that you seek Him.
  Out of desperation…. you thirst for him..
  You begin to hunger for him.  

Soon---you start to feel a powerful outpouring of rain…. coming

You have entered into the Oasis, the palm trees, the beautiful spring with fresh water…. cool crisp, refreshing. 

The tears you’ve been holding back begin to flow down your face

All of the stress

All the responsibility

All the pain

All the pressure from people, work or ministry

Slowly begins to ebb away

Spiritual food…begins to flow

You begin to eat of His Word

Feed from His Spirit

Be Consumed By His Love and Healing

This is Your Time

This is the Time

Now is the Time 

A new flame of desire ignites and rebirth

A new passion takes hold
